The Pomme de Terre Chapter of Muskies Inc. has youth & family day events throughout the year.
Our chapter donates money to charitable youth oriented entities and our members donate their time to
provide fishing & life skills education to children across the state.

In October , 2018, Wayne Humphrey made a presentation at Oakville High School in St Louis concerning conservation activities of the Missouri Department of Conservation with regard to fishing and muskie stocking.
Topics covered include: raising all types of fish for stocking purposes, maintaining habitat in lakes, spring netting for population monitoring, creel surveys for catch rate monitoring and where to fish for muskies.

In 2010 the chapter donated $1,000 to the Go Fish! Program of the Missouri Department of Conservation.  Go Fish! was a trial program of the department to teach fishing basics to children 7-15 years of age.
The program ran for three years and directly led to the ongoing state-wide program of the Department, Discover Nature-Fishing.

In 2013 the chapter donated $200 to the Youth Conservation Alliance to support their outdoors programs. In 2019 we donated an additional $500 to the Youth Conservation Alliance.

The YCA places a major emphasis on teaching children about the environment through fishing activities. This is not only to ensure the future of family oriented sports, but also to provide kids with a tremendous opportunity for environmental education outside of the classroom. The kids learn how to read lake maps and are taught about boating safety and fishing regulations.
